North Queensland schools are invited to take advantage of the latest travelling exhibitions at Museum of Tropical Queensland. 

Ancient Rome: The Empire that Shaped the World

Now on until 7 November 2021
Ideal for: Year 7, 11 & 12 Ancient History

Students can journey back in time to the Roman era with this interactive exhibition showcasing incredible art, machines and technology. 

Antiquities Revealed

Now on until 31 October 2021
Ideal for: Year 7, 11 & 12 Ancient History

Schools can discover some of the extraordinary objects within Queensland Museum's collections. The exhibition features over 150 objects from ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian civilisations.

NEW! ARTefact workshops for schools

History meets art in these creative workshops linked to Ancient Rome and Antiquities Revealed exhibitions. Book your class for this unique museum experience facilitated by our Learning Officer.

Students will be guided through key highlights of the exhibitions, using those highlights as inspiration to create their own object to take home. The experience concludes with free exploration of the artefacts and reconstructions on display in these two ancient history-focused exhibitions.

Maximum 28 students per session, $5.50 per student. Workshop component runs for approx. 45mins.

Available for a limited time to compliment the Ancient Rome and Antiquities Revealed exhibitions, the Ancient Worlds loan kit is ideal for students exploring the evidence and key features of ancient societies around the world, including Egypt, India and China.

The kit contains artefacts, models, casts and printed resources to support student exploration of the range of archaeological and written sources used in historical investigation.
