A large hermit instantly recognisable by its bright red body and legs with pale purple banded joints and the mauve eyestalks. To 150 mm.


Found on a variety of bottom types from rock, reef, and on sandy mud seagrass flats; to 30 m. Tropical to warm-temperate Australia south to NSW; also Indo-West Pacific.
