Artistic Tattoo Workshops

Unique workshops to provide insight and inspiration

In this series of special workshops, Townsville tattooist, Ink in the Lines exhibition contributor and award-winning artist Rob Douma will tour participants through the exhibition whilst he discusses the concept of a tattoo and some of the meanings implicit in their role and design.

Rob will also provide some insight into the tattoo industry, his own work as an artist and tattooist and the invaluable discussions he has with clients before beginning their ink.

Participants will then undertake the workshop in the museum theatre, guided through the thought and practical processes so that they are able to design their own unique tattoo. This will be drawn onto paper and at the conclusion of the workshop, the completed design will be collected, scanned and printed onto a tattoo transparency where it can be collected at the museum reception shortly after the workshop. Temporary tattoos are then ready to be taken home and applied to the designer's skin.
