Free Entry Community Day

To celebrate the opening of the new exhibition Connections across the Coral Sea, visit the museum Saturday 11 December 2021 for a FREE ENTRY community day.

Escape the heat and come along to enjoy Blak Markets Townsville and Big Eye Theatre who will have an array of stalls in the air-conditioned Great Gallery from 9.30am-1pm.

Local stallholders will be there with Indigenous arts and crafts on display and for sale including;

- Hand-made jewellery
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and crafts
- Deadly pot plants and home wares

Kick start your school holidays in the right way by exploring the museum's exhibitions and galleries and take a break in The Galley Cafe.

Upon arrival, take a moment to pause in the First Nations Foyer and enjoy the incredible mural from local Aboriginal artist Jumbo Prior and objects from the Townsville Aborginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Centre Collection.

The museum is open from 9.30am-4pm and on Saturday 11 December entry is free all day. Please note that no ticket bookings are required.
