Free Entry for Locals Day

9.30am - 5pm

 As well as all of the permanent gallery spaces to to enjoy, here's what you can look forward to this Free for Locals Day:

- Families can start their day with Little Explorers at 9.45am.

- See the display featuring artwork from Oceania in Making Connections: French Polynesia and the HMS Pandora Collection.

- Learn about the inspiring history of Palm Island in the new photographic display Palm Island and our People

- Hear from Harvard Medical School graduate and James Cook University Professor Zoltan Sarnyai when he talks about the how what you eat can affect your mental health in a special talk at 12pm.

- Be a scientist, explore and challenge your ideas in Sciencentre

- Meet our volunteer taxidermy team from 10-1pm. The taxidermists love talking to visitors and answering their questions on taxidermy and bird/wildlife conservation. 

- Discover more about the HMS Pandora and the tragic tale of the ship sent to capture the Bounty mutineers in guided tours at 11am and 1.30pm.

Entry is free to the Museum on Tuesday 12 November for Townsville residents as part of the monthly 'Free for Locals Day'. Proof of residency required. Entry is also free for Annual Pass holders.

Thanks to the generous support of their councils, residents from Burdekin, Charters Towers and Hinchinbrook receive free entry to the Museum all year round.

Free for Locals Day for Townsville residents occur on the second Tuesday of each month, excluding school and public holidays.
