Come Hell or High Water

Telling the story of how cyclones have shaped our lives and lifestyles, Come Hell or High Water is an exhibition that every North Queenslander can relate to.

The exhibition uses stories, photographs and artefacts to illustrate how cyclones have influenced North Queensland over the past 100 years with a focus on how the community has prepared for, lived through, cleaned up and counted the cost after each successive disaster.

Using first-hand testimony of cyclones, tornados and other “big blows”, Come Hell or High Water tells the story of how these fierce weather phenomena have shaped lives and lifestyles.

The exhibition will look at individual cyclones that have influenced North Queensland over the past 100 years with a focus on how the community has prepared for, lived through, cleaned up and counted the cost after each successive disaster.
