Discover More Talks 2018

Spend your lunchtime learning more about the world around us from local and visiting researchers and specialists. The long-running Discover More Talk series covers topics from local history to reef biology, with talks held on the second Tuesday of most months (February to November) from 12pm.

Details of upcoming talks can be found here and on the Museum's Facebook page.

The next Discover More Talk is on Tuesday 9 February 2018 and will be presented by Ted Brandi, Townsville City Council's Heritage Officer.

In February, Ted will present the second of two Discover More Talks that discuss the series of walking trails using smartphone app technology developed by Townsville City Council to engage tourists, local residents and school groups with the city’s rich heritage. The first talk, held in November 2017, focused on the central CBD area – the ‘Civic Pride’ trail, while the second talk will look further afield and showcase some of the lesser known streetscapes.

The second Tuesday of most months are Free for Locals Days (excluding school holidays and public holidays), where Townsville and Burdekin locals receive free entry to the Museum.
