Shipwrecked School Holiday Program

Shipwrecked - Dress like a pirate20 September – 1 October

Set sail for a shipwreck adventure at the Museum of Tropical Queensland these school holidays. The museum needs all on hands on deck to hunt for treasure, fire the cannon and join in the nautical fun and games!

Treasure Trail
Daily, 9.30am-5pm
Complete the treasure trail around the museum and be rewarded with your own piece of plunder.

Seafarers Ticket
Daily, 9.30am-5pm
Learn the ropes as a sailor with the Seafarers Ticket.

Craft Tables
Daily, 9.30am-5pm
Create your own pirate hat or treasure chest at our craft and colouring table.
Guardian supervision required

Meet Beau
Weekdays, 11.30am
Come say “hi” to our cuddly mascot, Beau the big, beautiful, blue Ulysses butterfly!

Sea Urchins Play Area
Weekdays, 9.30am-5pm
A space for younger tots to learn through play. Lots of puzzles, toys and games.
Guardian supervision required

Storytelling
Weekdays, 11am
Our museum volunteers will read their favourite maritime storybooks with you!

Make your own Pirate
Week 1, Weekdays, 9.30am-5pm
Decorate your own pirate at our craft tables.
Ages 5-12
Guardian assistance required

Make your own Parrot
Week 2, Weekdays, 9.30am-5pm
Create and colour in your own shoulder parrot using our templates.
Ages 5-12

Dress like a Pirate Day
Friday 1 October, 11.30am
Don your finest pirate garb and be in the running to win a prize!

Learn how the museum preserves real artefacts in the conservation mini-lab.
